Instead of laying ink on top of the fabric, discharge printing uses a specialized agent that removes the dye directly from the denim, leaving the design embedded into the fabric itself. This approach creates an exceptionally soft, elevated finish that feels indistinguishable from the fabric.
To achieve the desired off-white tone, we selected our custom denim fabric line made with white underbaked greige goods. When discharged, this fabric naturally reveals a soft off-white color—perfect for Pepsi’s subtle, premium aesthetic.

In February 2024, Influxer—a fast-growing startup enabling custom merchandise for collegiate athletes across the U.S.—approached Merchfuel with a critical challenge. When we began working with the main Pokémon distributor partner, the program started with a single product: our Supreme Fleece 10oz Hoodie. From the outset, the approval requirements were extensive—requiring preliminary sampling, pre-production sampling, and advanced testing standards that go well beyond Prop 65 compliance.
One of the distributor’s biggest challenges prior to partnering with Merchfuel was finding an apparel manufacturer capable of precise color matching that met Pokémon’s strict brand standards. Many manufacturers lacked the technical ability to consistently achieve approved colors. Merchfuel solved this immediately through our proprietary color-matching system, applied across both fabric dyeing/printing and print transfer technologies, dramatically simplifying approvals and accelerating timelines.
A second major hurdle was the testing and compliance phase. Pokémon utilizes QIMA as its designated testing facility, and our team’s deep familiarity with QIMA’s protocols proved critical. Our compliance manager at our Dongguan facility works directly with Pokémon’s QIMA account manager, streamlining communication and approvals while removing friction for our client throughout both adult and youth testing requirements.
Beyond base garments, we incorporated a wide range of novelty embellishments that also had to meet strict testing standards. These included silicone patches, laser-woven labels, custom zipper pulls, specialty trims, and fully custom branding components. Merchfuel also produces custom hangtags and UPC stickers, applies them in-house, and delivers each unit fully retail-ready, eliminating any additional handling or processing for our client.
Following the successful launch of the first hoodie, Pokémon expanded the use of our Supreme Fleece Hoodie across multiple collections each year. The partnership continued to scale with the addition of Threads by Merchfuel cotton T-shirts, which are now featured in several seasonal collections annually. Due to consistent quality, reliability, and on-brand execution, Pokémon also selected Merchfuel apparel for official staff wear, representing a significant milestone for our distributor partner.

When Raising Cane’s primary distributor approached Merchfuel, they needed a premium bomber jacket—and they needed it fast. The distributor selected our Nova-Tek Raglan Quilted Bomber Jacket, and once final artwork was received, our team moved immediately into development.
